Clean Your Aquarium the Natural Way!

Are you tired of constantly having to clean your aquarium? You need an assistant. No, you don’t need to hire someone to come out to your house and help you. What you need are Cerith snails! These underwater creatures help keep your aquarium clean on a day to day basis.

What Are Cerith Snails?

Cerith snails are tiny scavengers that come in attractive shells. They originate from the Caribbean and Mexican Coast and have a pretty undesirable appetite. As a species, Cerith snails eat a variety of ‘foods’ found in fish tanks such as hair algae and detritus. They’ll even consume feces, uneaten fish food, and more. Look, we didn’t say it was going to be pretty. But these little snails will be your aquarium’s new best friend.

Imagine having a little helper (or helpers!) to clean after your fish tank every day. Cerith snails are typically night foragers and burrow deep into the mud or sand and help oxygenate and clean your tank. Algae is their food of choice, and they will do their very best to remove any excess hair algae present in your aquarium. This is the most natural way to keep your fish tank as clean as possible, especially between deep cleans.

The best part about Cerith snails is that they are virtually maintenance free. They are here to help, not hinder. You don’t need to feed them any additional food and they will keep themselves busy clearing any bacterial growths stuck to your glass.

How many do you need?

One snail per five gallons of tank size is a good metric to use. Cerith snails are fast breeders so you will have yourself an army of little helpers in no time!

Clean your aquarium the natural way, with Cerith snails.

I have been ordering Copepods for many years and I never notice any reaction from my fish or corals when I bought from other places not so buying from Pod Your Reef! The copepods were alive and well! You could even see some swimming around in the tank my mushroom corals went crazy! Highly recommend getting your copepods from here!
