Chaetomorpha Algae, commonly known as Chaeto is the most common macro algae used in the reef refugium. As nutrients build-up usually as a result of feeding, the chaeto will uptake these nutrients and increase in mass (grow) pulling and trapping nitrates, phosphates in their cells. The overall mass and high density area can provide a safe haven for zooplankton such as copepods.

Optimal conditions for Chaetomorpha:

  • Light: Strong
  • Flow: High
  • Phosphate: 0.01 ppm (minimum)
  • Nitrate: 3 to 5 ppm (range)
  • Seeded with pods

I have been ordering Copepods for many years and I never notice any reaction from my fish or corals when I bought from other places not so buying from Pod Your Reef! The copepods were alive and well! You could even see some swimming around in the tank my mushroom corals went crazy! Highly recommend getting your copepods from here!
